Applied gaming workshops - Dutch Game Week
Information
During Dutch Game Week, Avans University of Applied Sciences opens its doors for a fun and educational program around the power of Applied Gaming, games that aim for social impact. The event consists of three modules:
- Morning: A keynote that inspires and provides insight into how games can influence behaviour and illustrate complex issues.
- Afternoon: Presentations by experts that stimulate and challenge new perspectives.
- Late Afternoon: Interactive workshops where participants get hands-on experience with game concepts and applications.
Visitors can choose to attend one module or participate all day. The focus is on how games can contribute to themes such as sustainability, health and technology, and how they are used as powerful tools for behavioural change and social innovation.
An example from the program is the work of Tom Djajadiningrat, who investigates how Serious Gaming can effectively influence behaviour and make complex problems comprehensible. This aligns with Avans University of Applied Sciences' mission to connect education, research, and practice through initiatives such as the Avans AI Accelerator.
Want to discover how games can change the world? Then this event is for you!
