Analog Film Festival

An ode to celluloid and projection light
Featured are projected films on 16mm, 8mm, and Super8, framed by an installation of cameras, viewers, stamping presses, and projectors. This provides insight into the entire process of analog filmmaking – from recording to screening.

Although the digital revolution has profoundly changed the film industry over the past 25 years, appreciation for the craft of the past is growing. More and more photographers and filmmakers are returning to analog techniques, then (still) processing their work digitally – both professionally and as amateurs.

Collection of Jan Bouwmans
The exhibition is assembled from the collection of Jan Bouwmans, a regular visitor to our film evenings. His extensive collection of film and projection equipment forms the core of the festival. Jan gladly shares his knowledge and passion with visitors, and also offers a selection of analog film material, allowing us to curate a unique film program.
