A Place for Your Loss

In November, the Lucaskerk (15 November) and the Markuskerk (16 November) in Breda open their doors to everyone living with loss. This may be the loss of a deceased loved one, but also the loss of a partner, son-in-law or daughter-in-law through divorce, work, health, mobility or independence. The loss of a good friend who has been forgotten, or a future dream such as unwanted childlessness, also falls under this category.

For many people, so-called living loss is a daily reality, for example due to the loss of a partner or parent through dementia.

In a ritual of silence and light, calm and serenity, poetry, thoughts, and live music, these churches offer a place of comfort and connection for everyone who needs it. The performances are in cooperation with the municipality of Breda and organizations in the neighbourhood.

The programme runs from 16:30 to 17:30. The buildings are open from 16:00 and close at 18:00. There is an opportunity for a cup of coffee or tea before and/or after.
