50 years KBS De Eerste Rith in Princenhage
Information
In 2025 primary school De Eerste Rith celebrates its 50th anniversary. A special jubilee not only celebrated at the school but also in the museum, where the rich educational heritage of Princenhage is central.
Especially for this occasion, a unique exhibition has been compiled in collaboration with two teachers from De Eerste Rith. Visitors gain insight into how education at this school has developed over the past five decades. From blackboard to tablet, from school desk to play corner, the evolution of the classroom comes to life.
Additionally, the museum displays special items from the collection that tell the wider story of education in Princenhage. One of the highlights is the facade stone of the first village school from 1646, a tangible reminder of centuries of schooling in the neighbourhood.
The exhibition can be visited in the last three months of 2025.
Everyone is warmly welcome to come and look around in the museum, explore, and reminisce. Whether you are a former pupil, local resident, education enthusiast, or simply curious, this exhibition offers something for everyone. As a festive conclusion, a reunion will be organised for former teachers of De Eerste Rith.
