The highlights of TURF 2025
Dutch Game Week x TURF 2025 @ Explore Breda Store
The Dutch Game Week (27 November to 4 December 2025) and TURF (27, 28 & 29 November 2025) took place simultaneously. At the Explore Breda Store, you experienced both events during an exhibition. Here you could discover some highlights of the events, such as the game The Knightling by the Breda-based studio Twirlbound and behind-the-scenes stories from TURF.
TURF Talk @ Triple O Campus
An inspiring day full of speakers from various fields in Design & Innovation, Digital Marketing, Immersive Technologies & Human Track. The Triple O Campus served as the platform for sharing knowledge about the technology of the future and creativity during TURF 2025. Rob Vranken shared how he uses drones to collect data, AI specialist explained how CM.com continues to innovate, and Zoltan Batho impressed you with his astonishing virtual productions.
Radio TURF @ Pop-Up Vismarktstraat
During TURF, the city was once again turned upside down and transformed. Places you normally wouldn't pay much attention to were turned into meeting spots and radio stations. During TURF 2025, a pop-up venue appeared on Vismarktstraat where a radio show was hosted for three days by Breda collectives Gloed and RUIS. And you also discovered many more pop-ups throughout the city centre.
TURF Talk @ Hotel Nassau (De Kapel)
Breda is the breeding ground for (emerging) DJ talent. With names like Tiësto and Hardwell from the same cradle, you know that the DJ scene is alive here! During TURF 2025, you could participate in interesting talks about the music industry and the future of music education at Hotel Nassau in De Kapel. It was a real highlight for professionals and DJs.
The Makersstraat of TURF @ Sint Annastraat
The St. Annastraat burst with creativity. In this special street in Breda, you would find a collection of cultural entrepreneurs, makers, and innovative shops coming together to create something extraordinary. During TURF 2025, they united their efforts in a programme full of exhibitions, performances, talks, evening events, and workshops. All with one goal: to bring art, culture, society, and the city closer together.
With this collaborative approach, the makers from the St. Annastraat aimed to increase their impact and demonstrated how they contribute to Breda's creative and inclusive character.
The participating entrepreneurs were:
- SUDS x Maalstroom – vinyl pop-up
- De Garage x VV Eigenbelang and BO Diversity – spoken word
- Bunker Tattoo x De Oppositie – hip-hop pop-up
- SAARBARBAARS – creative workshop
- The Green Submarine – sensory overload club and exhibition
The Night Conference @ Hotel Nassau
The Breda nightlife culture is more than just partying until the sun comes up. It is the space where you can let everything go for a moment, be completely yourself, and where future collaborations are born. During The Night Conference, the Night Council of Breda and the night mayors of Brabant came together to discuss this theme. You could join the conversation and have your voice heard.
Jungle By Night @ Hotel Nassau
The nine-piece band from Amsterdam, who have performed at festivals such as Lowlands and Down The Rabbit Hole, came to Breda! Jungle by Night captured exactly the energy of TURF: full of passion, connection, and always seeking new musical worlds. What started with afrobeat and funk evolved into a unique sound that also blends jazz, soul, and electronic influences.
That was TURF 2025!
TURF 2025 was a three-day city-wide event in the fields of art, culture, music, and technology with a captivating program and various pop-ups across the city. Watch the aftermovie, enjoy the edition, and make sure you're there next year.
