Wind sculpture
This colourful object made of fiberglass and steel represents a gust of wind through textile. Artist Yinka Shonibare had the well-known African wax print fabrics in mind. It was installed in 2017 after the major renovation of Shopping Centre de Barones.
This colourful object made of fiberglass and steel represents a gust of wind through fabric. Artist Yinka Shonibare had the well-known African wax print fabrics in mind. It was installed in 2017 upon the completion of the major renovation of Shopping Centre de Barones.
Shonibare, who grew up alternating between England and Nigeria, created more 'Wind Sculptures', each with a unique painting. They are scattered around the world, for example in Washington, New York, and Lagos.
