Sol Y Sombra
The menu at Sol Y Sombra has been expanded and features many original specialties from the cuisines of different Spanish regions, but there is mainly a cozy and informal atmosphere. Truly a Spanish night out indeed. It is a great place to sit around the table with friends and, of course, enjoy a nice glass of wine or homemade sangria, while savouring delicious tapas. All at very affordable prices. Paella is also one of the specialities. Hasta la vista!
Breda and the special connection with Spain
At restaurant Sol Y Sombra, you can experience the Spanish atmosphere. Mencia de Mendoza, the wife of Hendrik III, would definitely have felt at home here. Mencia was the wealthiest woman in Spain. Together with Hendrik, she turns Breda into an international meeting place for artists and scientists. Before the Eighty Years' War, the Netherlands and Spain had a fruitful relationship. Painters, architects, and creators of books and carpets inspired each other and collaborated extensively. Tomatoes and Spanish peppers came to our country via Spain from South America.
