This winter, the Grote Markt will be transformed into a bustling winter location. The IJsplein, near the town hall, consists of a covered ice rink (with real ice!) and the adjacent catering hotspot, the Wintertaverne. 

Open daily
From 12 December to 4 January, the IJsplein is open daily for anyone looking for warmth and cosiness, even during the festive season. The IJsplein is one of the components of the winter Breda Straalt experience in the city centre.

Catering hotspot the Wintertaverne
Next to the ice rink, you will find the cosy pop-up eatery the Wintertaverne. Here you can warm up with delicious shared dining snacks, a good glass of wine, or a craft beer. It is the ideal place to relax after skating or simply enjoy the winter atmosphere.

Reservations? Not necessary, just walk in, find a spot and make yourself comfortable. They'll take care of the rest!

Packed programme
The IJsplein offers more than just lunch, drinks, dinner and, of course, plenty of skating fun in the warm heart of the city centre. Every day there is something to do, both on the ice rink and in the Wintertaverne: from curling evenings to lively parties and from children's afternoons to live music.
