Herb Garden Begijnhof
At the medieval Begijnhof, you will find an herb garden with no less than three hundred different herbs.
The Beguinage of Breda is a walled complex consisting of small houses and a small church in the city centre of Breda. The 29 houses, spread over two courtyards, are grouped around a herb garden containing around three hundred different herbs. There is also a statue of two beguines in conversation. It is located close to Park Valkenberg.
Historically, the beguines were involved in caring for the sick. For this purpose, they used many herbs from their own herb garden.
