Breda, 20th of March, 2024 - Maartje Dimmers and Tom Cosijn are excited to announce the arrival of the Uncorked Wine Festival, which will take place in the City Park ’t Zoet in Breda during the weekend of the 7th, 8th, and 9th of June. Tom Cosijn, known as the organiser of the Hop On Hop Off Festival, talks about the inspiration behind this new wine festival: "I had been looking for a way to create the experience of Hop On Hop Off around a different product for some time. During a conversation with Maartje, a wine expert with fantastic ideas about a wine festival, it all clicked." Maartje Dimmers, wine expert, shares her vision for the festival: "I have been in the wine industry for many years now, and from the very beginning, my wish has been to introduce as many people as possible to wine. Because wine and wine tasting are fun. I prefer to work with artisanal wine producers who are passionate about their craft. Because you can taste that." Uncorked Wine Festival will not just be a place to taste different types of wine, but a festive event where both beginners and experienced wine drinkers will be pleasantly surprised. Maartje continues: "I envision a wine festival as a place where the novice wine drinker can discover this wonderful product, and the seasoned wine drinker can be surprised by wines from regions or grape varieties that are still unknown here. All in a festival atmosphere. With good food and good music. A place where you enjoy going with friends and where things might get a little out of hand towards the end of the evening." Tom Cosijn explains why City Park ’t Zoet in Breda was chosen as the location: "How wonderful is it to transform the place that many people from Breda still remember from the two gigantic CSM towers and the smell that hung over the city during the beet campaign into a cool, atmospheric festival location? In a few years, there will be a residential area here, so this is our chance." Maartje adds: "What attracts me is the rawness of the place and the beautiful view of Breda's skyline through the letters 'IK GA VIA BREDA'. And of course, it also helps that we are less than 10 minutes away from the Central Station and the city centre of Breda."
