Trixie Whitley at MEZZ Breda
Trixie Whitley is a versatile artist who effortlessly breaks down boundaries between genres and emotions. Born in Ghent and raised in the music studios of New York, she has been performing on stage since the age of three. As a singer, musician, dancer and DJ, she developed her own sound, blending soul, blues, rock and electronic influences.
Information
With her new album ‘Folded Time’, Whitley builds a bridge between past traumas and joy in the present. In her music, she weaves personal experiences together with social and political themes. Her motherhood and confrontation with her own repressed thoughts have also left their mark on this intense and layered work. For Trixie, healing begins with acknowledging what hurts. For her, that healing process lives in music. She looks her own strength straight in the eye and embraces both the girl she was and the woman she is today.
