Sounding Bodies: Hingabe

Expect a surprising encounter between past and present, in a chapel where the sound floats through the space.  Hingabe is inspired by the devotion of the Franciscan Sisters, women who devoted their lives to the congregation and helped shape the world of today with care for others. This year, the congregation celebrates its 200th anniversary. Since 2021, Sounding Bodies’ artistic director Jacqueline Hamelink has been visiting the congregation. In Hingabe, she makes their values tangible, giving everyone’s body the space to feel which direction it wants, needs or can take. Please note: This performance does not take place in the theatre, but at another location: the monumental chapel of Breda University (BUas). The chapel is located in the Horizon South building on the BUas campus. Navigate to Mgr. Hopmansstraat 2, Breda. From there, you’ll find your way.
