Sound of Europe Festival
Sound of Europe brings Europe's most innovative music to Breda on 11 and 12 October 2025. The festival presents a unique mix of crossovers and impressive solo performances. These will take place at various locations in Breda.

Be surprised by groundbreaking sounds of Europe. The music during Sound of Europe cannot be captured in one genre, but rather consists of a surprising mix of styles.
Friday, 10 October – Kapelzaal Holland Casino Breda
Please note: proof of identity is required at Holland Casino!
- 8:00 p.m.: Arie Kuit & The Bird Legacy Band
Rotterdam alto saxophonist Arie Kuit and his band of top musicians will open the festival with a tribute to Charlie “Bird” Parker. - 9:45 p.m.: The Loek van den Berg Quintet takes you on a musical journey full of melancholy, improvisation and mutual chemistry.
Saturday, 11 October – Bühne
- 2 x Generation Next @ Bühne. Sound of Europe gives new talent a stage in collaboration with the Tilburg Conservatory.
- 3:00 p.m. : Evelien Sleegers (singer).
- 4:30 p.m.: Youri Traa (drummer)

- 19:30: Robinson Khoury Trio @ Kapelzaal Holland Casino
Robinson Khoury is the winner of the 2025 Django Reinhardt Prize. - 21:00: Nawras Altaky @ Kapelzaal Holland Casino
Utrecht city composer Nawras Altaky combines jazz, Arabic maqam and classical influences into a warm and poetic whole.
Sunday 12 October – Mezz Breda
- 3:00 p.m.: Fuse
The popular ensemble Fuse, known from the TV programme Podium Klassiek, explores the boundaries between classical, jazz and minimal. - 4:30 p.m.: Yazz Ahmed Quartet
Trumpeter Yazz Ahmed will perform the closing concert of Sound of Europe. She blurs the boundaries between Arabic folk music, psychedelic jazz and electronic sound design.
