Sondre Lerche at MEZZ
Information
“I never thought I would be able to work this way,” says Sondre Lerche. “I never thought I could feel so free, so uninhibited. To be honest, I never thought I could make this album.” The Bergen-born Lerche has been a dreamer for most of his life.
His music ranges from cheerful pop to orchestral and more experimental indie rock. As a teenager, he gained international attention with his debut ‘Faces Down’, which was praised by Rolling Stone as “one of the most beautiful, sunniest pop albums of the year.” Over the following two decades, he mostly lived in America and released eight more studio albums.
He performed on Letterman, Conan, and NPR’s Tiny Desk. Additionally, he composed music for several feature films. He also worked in the studio and on stage with artists such as Regina Spektor and Philip Glass, and toured with artists including Stereolab, Elvis Costello, and St. Vincent.
Aside from his prolific musical output and relentless touring schedule, Lerche found time to explore other interests: he published two children's books, launched his own line of natural wines, and authored a collection of musical essays about diverse artists, from A-ha to Lana Del Rey.
