Semuta + Baba Pen & The Bim Bam Band in MEZZ

A psych-rock double bill with influences from blues, hard rock, and full thematics.

Information

Semuta
Named as the torchbearers of the Dutch psychedelic rock scene by OOR, Semuta makes it clear that the genre is far from finished reinventing itself. With their debut album just off the press, they are coming to Breda in May! The five-piece band was previously known as Zuster Zonnebloem and has already played shows at, among others, Paaspop, Waterpop, and Oerol. Their influences of hard rock, soul, blues, and indie merge with their psychedelic rock background. Themes such as capitalism, faith, sexism, and depression are explored in a quest for the meaning of life. After a musical journey of 45 minutes, the conclusion is revealed in the final line.

Baba Pen & The Big Bam Band
Baba Pen is the new spiritual leader from the East. Psychedelic rock with traces of country, folk, and mysticism is wrapped in a ritualistic coat. In his teenage years, singer/guitarist Bastian Pen heard about a hermit in a woodland cabin with an invisible dog. Their music is described as the 1960s translated into 2025, The Doors meeting Tame Impala. Their debut album is full of themes, psychedelics, and alternative pop/rock music.
