<p>SKEMER was formed in 2019 by singer Kim Peers, also a model for Vogue and Prada, and guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove of Amenra. They quickly discovered that their individual strengths complemented each other perfectly. Two very different worlds collide, resulting in minimalist darkwave deconstructions that are both brutal and erotic.

This duality is reflected in the name SKEMER, which, in addition to the obvious English meaning of 'intriguer', also means 'twilight' in Mathieu's mother tongue, West Flemish.

It has been four years since their debut 'Benevolence', and in that time SKEMER has allowed their artistic evolution to flourish. Their music, a unique blend of minimalist coldwave, brutal eroticism, and industrial electro and techno influences, has only intensified on their latest full-length release 'Toasts &amp; Sentiments'.
