To celebrate 80 years of freedom, Filmhuis Breda is exclusively screening the impressive documentary by director Bob Entrop. Information

The film is being released as part of the 80 years of freedom celebration. A co-production with the Campl Westerbork Rememberance Centre. The national premiere is on 14 May at EYE Film Museum, but for now it can be seen at Filmhuis Breda. Director Bob Entrop will be present for an introduction and a post-screening discussion.

The film tells the story of the Sinti Roma through vibrant, yet poignant images and stories, tracing their history from India, where they originally come from, the horrors of the Second World War, and how the five main characters, each from different visual perspectives, contribute to a world without racism, discrimination, and inequality. The story begins hundreds of years ago in Rajasthan, India, where the Sinti Roma originally originate, and follows their history through the horrors of the Second World War and the murder of nearly a million Sinti and Roma in Europe, leading to the present day.

The five main characters demonstrate ‘their fighting spirit’ and who they are as Sinti from various visual angles, as well as how they can contribute to shaping a world without anti-Semitism, discrimination, and racism.
