Performance: Amor Matador at Chassé Theater
In Amor Matador, the arena symbolises an ancient world in which masculinity is often measured by violence and conflict. This version of Carmen, however, is not about the heroic matador. The story is told by the women: Carmen, the lover, and Maria, the mother. They refuse to resign themselves to a tragedy that continues to mark generation after generation.
