Nouveau Vélo is no stranger to the Dutch indie scene. Since 2010, the band has performed in various formations. What remains recognisable is their dreamy and melodic sound.
 The band started as a DIY project in Helmond and quickly gained attention with their first EPs. Their debut album, released in 2014, was praised for its fresh and timeless sound. With influences from bands like The Smiths, R.E.M., and The War on Drugs, but with their own unique twist, Nouveau Vélo has built a loyal following within the Dutch alternative music scene.
 
While the band often showcases beautiful layering on record, the strength of their live performances lies in the energy and dynamism. The band is characterised by melodic, lo-fi pop, in which guitar plays a prominent role.
