National Studio Weekend

Art lovers have the chance this weekend to experience the world behind the artwork up close. In each studio, a different story awaits discovery. The participating artists on Nijverheidssingel represent a wide variety of disciplines, styles and working methods. You’ll see paintings, drawings, life-sized horses, ceramics, portraits, enormous charcoal drawings, unique stop-motion, art prints, textile art, jewellery, abstract art, etc.

During the sixteenth edition of the National Studio Weekend, the makers show not only the finished result of their work, but also how it comes into being: among materials, sketches and work still in progress. Visitors hear the stories behind the work first-hand and gain insight into techniques, sources of inspiration and working methods. The National Studio Weekend therefore offers an accessible and above all personal way to experience art and truly meet the people behind it.
