Maite Hontelé y LA NOVIA in MEZZ

Maite Hontelé grew up in Utrecht listening to the Latin music from her father’s record collection. Her love of salsa took her to Colombia, where she lived and worked for almost ten years. There, she built an impressive international career, released five albums and worked with greats such as Rubén Blades, Oscar D’León and Gilberto Santa Rosa. With two Latin GRAMMY nominations and a Cubadisco Award for her album Cuba Linda, Maite has established herself as a prominent name in the international Latin music scene. Together with bassist Adinda Meertins, she is now embarking on a new musical chapter with LA NOVIA, an international collective that combines the rhythmic power of Latin music with the accessibility and energy of pop.
