About the film:

Eleonor the Great is Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut, in which June Squibb plays the 94-year-old Eleanor. She decides to leave Florida behind after a loss and moves to New York to live with her family. She tries to find a new place for herself there but quickly realises that this is less straightforward than hoped.

One day, she accidentally ends up at a support group where she shares a story that inadvertently attracts a lot of attention. While a young journalism student sees in her a friend and mentor, the consequences for Eleanor are beyond her control.
