About the film:

Céline is looking forward to the arrival of her first child. However, she isn’t pregnant herself; her wife, Nadia, is due to give birth to their daughter in three months’ time. But in order to be legally recognised as the mother, Céline must adopt her child and prove that she deserves a place in her own daughter’s life. As part of this process, she is asked to gather fifteen statements confirming that she will be a good mother. Under the watchful eye of friends, family and the law, she searches for her place as a parent.

Des preuves d’amour is a moving, yet light-hearted and humorous portrait of queer parenthood and the obstacles that come with it. Based on director Alice Douard’s own experiences, the film poignantly tells the story from the perspective of the non-pregnant partner during the final stages of pregnancy.
