IJsplein Curling Nights

Invite your friends, family, or colleagues for a game of curling at the Grote Markt! 

At the covered ice rink at the IJsplein on the Grote Markt, you can challenge each other this winter in a game of curling. The perfect winter outing full of fun, teamwork, and a touch of competition. 

What is curling?
Curling is a winter sport where two teams compete against each other. The aim? Slide your stones over the ice and try to get them as close as possible to the centre of the circle, called the “house”. Along the way, you can sweep with special brooms to make the stone slide faster or straighter. 
Strategy, agility, and teamwork all come together! 

How does it work? 
Two teams of 2 to 4 people play against each other on one rink. Each team receives a set of curling stones and a scorecard to keep track of your score. Taking turns, you slide the stones towards the circle. After each round, the points are counted and the team with the stone closest to the centre wins! 

A game lasts about 25 minutes. You book the rink for 1 hour, so you can definitely play two games 

When? 
Curling is available almost every evening from 20:00 to 00:00 hours at the ice rink at the IJsplein on the Grote Markt. Booking is required to ensure a rink is reserved for you.

You play with a maximum of 8 people per rink.
