As frontman of the idiosyncratic British indie band Wild Beasts, Hayden Thorpe impressed for years with his extraordinary falsetto and theatrical, layered pop songs. Nine years after the band’s disbandment, Thorpe is bringing the beloved song material back to the stage for the first time. This time, he does so entirely solo. No grand productions, but the songs in their purest form: just a voice and an instrument, exactly as they were originally written. 

The timing is no coincidence; this year marks exactly twenty years since Wild Beasts released their debut single ‘Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants’. Alongside his rediscovered love for the Wild Beasts repertoire, Hayden Thorpe has spent the past years working on his own solo project. From intimate, fragile piano ballads on ‘Diviner’ to dreamy electropop and ambient sounds on ‘Moondust for My Diamond’. 

In 2024, he delivered his most ambitious work to date with ‘Ness’: a cinematic and eclectic album where his extraordinary voice combines with experimental folk and chamber orchestra arrangements.
