First Dance Performance for Young Audiences 'Uit de Doeken'

A dance performance about staying true to yourself in a world that constantly demands attention. In a landscape of fluttering cloths, a dancer tries to find something to hold on to. She disappears, and nothing stays in its place.

Ultimately, she inevitably re-emerges. Together with others, she becomes entangled in a world in which there is much to discover and reveal.

Choreographers Femke Somerwil and Gertien Bergstra explore in this wordless performance how you can remain true to yourself amid everything and everyone around you. The music by resident composers Mete Erker and Jeroen van Vliet brings colour to the moving landscape.

About the production
This production came about through a collaboration between the Comedia Theater in Cologne and dance company de Stilte. The German première is on Saturday 19 September in Cologne. The Dutch première is at Chassé Theater in Breda on the Wednesday afternoon of 7 October 2026.
