The Canadian indie rock band Elephant Stone is the brainchild of Rishi Dhir, a songwriter and sitarist who has spent two decades blurring the boundaries between Western psychedelic rock and traditional Indian music.

Their tenth album, ASHA, is named after the frontman’s late mother and is released this Friday. It explores the friction between grief, hope and the darkness of our times.
