Dotan has always used music to express his feelings. Ten years ago, his debut album ‘7 Layers’ was released, an album about a young man struggling to discover himself. This album quickly became one of the best-selling albums in the Netherlands and also enjoyed great success in Europe and North America.Armed with his acoustic guitar, Dotan began writing for his upcoming album, aiming to tell the stories that mean the most to him. Unlike his earlier, darker work, his latest collection of songs is inspired by light. He found his inspiration in the music he listened to as a child with his father, such as James Taylor, Neil Young, and Cat Stevens. He discovered beauty in the rough edges of production and the raw honesty in the lyrics.As he wrote for his upcoming record, Dotan developed a healthier relationship with music, discovering that music could be sunny and bright, inspiring and celebrating life. This revelation forms the core of Dotan’s new music, a folk-infused album that tells the story of happier chapters in his life and looks forward to what is to come.

After his sold-out acoustic solo tour in the spring, Dotan is heading back to Europe in the autumn. Together with his band, the singer has been working on new material.
