The Klûntocht is the largest pre-carnival event and is considered the best preparation for the Breda carnival. 

During the Klûntocht, the cafés in and around the Grote Markt are transformed into Frisian eleven cities, the Frieslandhal, and seventeen Frisian attractions or other famous places. Each location has a stamp post where participants in the Klûntocht can collect their stamps. At the end of the afternoon, a full stamp card is good for the unique klûnkruisje.  A large number of carnival bands create a great atmosphere so that the 5000 festively dressed participants can participate in a beautiful 'Elfstedentocht'.

The majority of the proceeds from the klûnkaarten always goes to various charitable causes. 

Subject to change: The opening of the Klûntocht is at 13:30, after which participants can klûn until 17:30. The Klûntocht is concluded with an award ceremony on the Grote Markt for the best-dressed participants/groups,
