BredaPhoto: Artist Talks with Breda photography talents Ties van de Water and Yvela Jessica

Ties van de Water and Yvela Jessica both graduated from St. Joost and received the St. Joost Medal for their work. Their projects are on display during the BredaPhoto Festival 2026, and on Saturday 24 October they will tell you more about them.

In her project It Means Everything Because This Is Who I Am, Yvela Jessica explores her origins, identity and experiences as a Haitian adoptee in the Netherlands. With I Will Carry This Stone, Ties van de Water tells a personal story about the loss of his mother and a journey to Scotland, where he searched for a different way to deal with grief.

During the Artist Talk, both photographers will talk about their graduation projects, and you can ask questions yourself.
