Black Box Revelation at MEZZ

It is a constant quest for the duo Jan Paternoster (vocals/guitar) and Dries van Dijck (drums). Although that foundation has remained just as strong since the band was formed 20 years ago, the stark advance of the digital world is pulling just as persistently in the opposite direction.

Their new self-titled album will be released on 12 March 2027. On it, Black Box Revelation ventures into the epicentre of the cultural catastrophe, boldly seeking contrasts between grainy fuzz and 4K resolution. Writing rock music from a more electronically oriented perspective has cast the band’s working methods in a new light. This tension comes beautifully to the fore in the first single, ‘STRONGER’, which combines a processed vocal sample from Paternoster with the group’s familiar blues-inspired rock ’n’ roll influences: a song expressing an untameable longing for reality.
