Cycling tour Dag van de Architectuur

On Saturday 14 June, during the national Architecture Day, Stichting BLASt organises its annual bike tour through Breda. During the bike tour, you will visit places in the city where this societal shift is palpable.  

Where do people gather? How is involvement in the living environment created? And what role does the physical space play in this? So, a bike tour with the theme: Meeting in the city. An invitation to discover how social and spatial transitions reinforce each other.

Morning programme:
In the morning, the bike tour visits Bieb Hoge Vught, a new community hub for the neighbourhood. Next, you will visit De Kragt: the meeting place for (top)sportspeople, sports professionals, teachers, young talents and local residents.

After that, you will head to Willem-Alexanderpark. This park has been transformed from an asphalted car park into a green park, a special spot in the neighbourhood, where you can also park. Lunch will be served at ONS Restaurant.

Afternoon programme:
In the afternoon, the bike tour passes through Tuinen van Genta, where all houses are connected with shared green spaces. Then, you will go to De Rijp, in this building there is much space for meeting, just like in the surrounding neighbourhood you will visit. Afterwards, you will visit the Maczek Memorial, a building to meet, commemorate and share stories. 

The afternoon concludes with a drinks reception at Breda Botanique.

You can join the entire route, but you can also choose to participate only in the morning or only in the evening.
