Adventurous expeditions at the EOFT documentary festival

For 25 years, EOFT has been the ultimate film event for outdoor and adventure enthusiasts. An evening full of inspiration featuring the six best outdoor documentaries.

Information

From late October, the European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT) returns to the Netherlands. During Europe’s largest outdoor film tour, you can enjoy three hours of six inspiring short documentaries filled with spectacular adventures, breathtaking landscapes and remarkable personalities.

For 25 years, EOFT has been taking audiences into the world of mountaineering, skiing, kayaking and other extreme outdoor sports. One of this year’s highlights is 'Bravo Les Filles’. This documentary follows elite climbers Sasha DiGiulian and Mariana 'Mango' Ordoñez on their expedition to Madagascar. As the first all-female rope team, they aim to free-climb the legendary Bravo Les Filles route. The film shows how ambition, perseverance and the power of female role models inspire generations of climbers.

‘I Follow Rivers’ is also on the programme. In it, Norwegian kayaker Mariann Sæther attempts to fulfil her greatest dream after twenty years of preparation: descending the impressive Aldeyjarfoss waterfall in Iceland. The documentary explores the balance between personal ambition and the sense of responsibility she feels as a partner and mother.

In ’Wand in Zicht’, you follow climber Philipp Hans, who sails to the Greek island of Amorgos with his brother Moritz and childhood friend Falk to open a new climbing route. Their goal is a spectacular 250-metre climbing line straight from the sea. Along the way, however, their plans are constantly challenged by unpredictable conditions and the whims of nature.
