Stephanus Maximilian Harsono (Semarang, Indonesia, 1996) obtained his bachelor's (2018) and master's degree (2020) at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied with Frank Peters. He also attended masterclasses with figures such as Jan Wijn, Marcel Baudet, Frank van de Laar, Ralph van Raat, Nicholas Stavy, David Kuyken, and Wibi Soejardi.
Stephanus has performed as a soloist with, among others, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orchestra, Amsterdam Con Brio, and the SMM Youth Orchestra in Indonesia. His concert activities regularly take him to stages in Europe and Asia.
Beyond his performances, Stephanus is associated as a teacher at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he mentors young musicians in their development as pianists, teachers, and artistic bridges-builders.
In his concerts, he is inspired by Leonard Bernstein, with a mission to bring classical music to life in a personal, accessible, and human way for a wide audience.
Buitengewoon Klassiek organises ten wonderful classical concerts in Oosterhout each year.
These include solo piano concerts, as well as ensembles with violinists, cellists, or wind players, and cross-overs to other music genres.
