The Polish have always been a people who loved singing. Song is therefore an indispensable part of their celebrations and accompanied them during the most dramatic moments in their history. The songs describe fortunes and setbacks and encouraged soldiers and partisans to fight. They strengthened morale but also kept a sense of national identity and feeling alive during the partitions of Poland when Poland disappeared from the map as a state and during the Nazi occupation when Poland vanished from the map once again. After the Second World War, during the time of the People's Republic of Poland, they were also a form of resistance against the communist system.

On 6 October, a select group of singers and musicians will perform Polish partisan songs, battle songs, resistance songs, contemplative songs, and camp prayers, in tribute to the brave partisan fighters who were embroiled in an internal struggle and Polish soldiers who fought far from their homeland abroad for our freedom. 
The concert is a kickoff for activities surrounding the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Breda.

The whole event is led by musician Roel Noga, himself the son of a Polish liberator and a staff member of the Maczek Memorial Breda.
 Concert starts: 14:00, Memorial doors open: 13:00, after the concert there will be a gathering until 18:00.
