Celebrate the summer cultural programmes in Breda

During the summer, a number of cultural venues in Breda are certainly not standing still! There is plenty to explore and do. We have listed what is happening at the Chassé Theatre, Pier15, Breda Municipal Museum, Grote Kerk Breda, and more in the upcoming period!

    Chassé Theatre

While many theatres close in the summer, the Chassé Theatre  is going outdoors with a diverse summer programme on special locations in Breda. Visitors can enjoy films, cabaret, live music, and culinary evenings, both inside and around the theatre.

The programme consists of four elements:

    • Sunset Cinema
Open-air films at unique locations in Breda, such as the NAC Stadium, Pier15, BAAI, Landgoed Wolfslaar, and the Asterdhoeve. The combination of special films and extraordinary venues makes every evening unique.
    • Klapstoelkabaret
Cabaret performances at surprising outdoor locations. Visitors bring their own folding chair and enjoy performances by emerging cabaret artists.
    • Open Vensters'
Free live concerts on Saturday evenings on the front square of the Chassé Theatre. Featuring world music, a relaxed atmosphere, and a drink on the terrace of Vensters'.
    • Cine Cocina
A combination of a Spanish dinner and a Spanish film. First enjoying a hearty meal at a long table on the back square, followed by a film immersing you in Spanish culture.

    Pier15

Besides the fact that you are, of course, more than welcome to skate, play basketball or just come for a cosy drink, Pier15 bubbles with activities all summer long. From roller-skating and open-air films to live music and summer parties: almost every weekend there is something to enjoy.

    The summer programme includes:

    • Music & Festivals
From tropical dance afternoons during Rumba Tropicale and house parties at Zonnig! to live concerts such as  Frankie and the Witch Fingers and Borokov Borokov. In August and September, larger events include Surf & Turf, 90's Knockout x Football Fest, Maalstroom Open Air and the first preliminary round of Grote Prijs Breda.
    • Open-air Cinema
In August, Pier15 becomes one of the locations of  Sunset Cinema, where visitors can watch a film at a special outdoor venue under the stars.
    • Terrace & Summer Vibes
Even without an event, Pier15 remains a lovely summer destination. With a spacious terrace, skatepark, catering and a relaxed festival atmosphere, it’s a place where you can easily linger.
