Urban Dance Squad is undoubtedly the best and most influential band that the Netherlands has produced. Now, Rudeboy has gathered a group of experienced musicians around him, including the original UDS DJ DNA, to bring the work of Urban Dance Squad back to the stage. Urban Dance Squad was formed in 1986 after a jam session and quickly made waves with their unique and unprecedented mix of styles. Funk, soul, jazz, punk, rock, and hip-hop were combined by a group of musicians with a rapper and a DJ. A unique combination that made the band pioneers of the crossover genre. They had a significant influence on bands like Rage Against The Machine and were peers of bands like The Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers.After a worldwide tour and support shows for David Bowie and U2, the band disbanded in 2000 after five albums. Since 2021, frontman Rudeboy has been bringing the work of Urban Dance Squad back to the stages with a set consisting of songs from all the albums the band has made. The band is now so well-rehearsed that, just like in the spirit of the original Urban Dance Squad, they perform freely and evoke a similar energy.
