Purcell Experience at MuziekSalon Spronk,

Just like last season, MuziekSalon Spronk opens with a special collaboration with the chamber choir Personare. The collaboration involves the well-known conductor Ad van Unen presenting a musical story about the “opera dramatick King Arthur” by the baroque composer Henry Purcell (1659-1695). Purcell is considered one of the most important composers of the baroque period and is buried in Westminster Abbey. The music from his King Arthur is astonishing and still very captivating for us 21st-century listeners. It is a kind of “17th-century musical” with drama, singing, and spoken text. On 15 October, the musical story will be told by Ad van Unen at 15:00 in Mariëndal, Breda. The entrance includes a coffee and a glass of wine. On 8 December, Personare, led by its conductor, will perform the entire work at Podium Zandberg58.
