In collaboration with library Nieuwe Veste, Chassé Cinema presents the special Kaftwerk. Each edition features a film adaptation of a book and includes a discussion afterwards.

Director Boudewijn Koole will be present for a discussion.
 
Lin (33) is a successful swimmer. After a career in competitive swimming, she is now seeking the challenge of open water. Over the past few years, she has trained for the grueling crossing of the Channel in record time. The fact that swimmers sometimes disappear during this crossing attracts Lin more than it frightens her. As a small girl, she already asked her father to throw her over the reeds in the canal. Time and again, he threw her. Until one time she almost drowned. A few weeks before her crossing, she meets Henri (38), an underwater welder, who, like her, thrives on danger. Lin and Henri dive head first into an intense love affair. They challenge each other to great heights, but also pull each other deeper into darkness.
 
Hokwerda’s child is inspired by the novel of the same name by Oek de Jong.
