Exhibition Ada Krowinkel
Discover the colorful and expressive art of Ada Krowinkel during her exhibition at Princenhaags Museum.
Information
25 years in the arts, a reason for a celebration. ‘Celebration’! is also the title of her exhibition.
Ada Krowinkel has been active as a visual artist for 25 years.
Ada works without a strictly defined plan. She often starts with an idea, a feeling, a form, or a colour, but then lets herself be guided by the process. The work takes over from her – it becomes what it wants to be. For her, that is the essence of being an artist: daring to let go and following what presents itself.
At the Princenhaags museum, Ada presents an overview of her work over the years. Her humour bursts from the canvas; she paints impulsively, explosively, and expressively. Her work makes people think and makes them laugh. She is always brimming with new ideas and materials. She remains original, passionate, and full of energy.
Notably, the influence of her travels far and wide is evident. The use of colour and line in her work is infused with impressions from other parts of the world. Although the landscapes and people she encounters are always different, her visual language remains powerful, vivid, and unique.
Ada ‘soaks up’ art: she visits galleries and museums, reads about them, and remains insatiable in her quest for inspiration. This exhibition shows that Ada is very much involved in life – and with boundless passion, she continues to explore new paths.
She has exhibited in many places, both domestically and internationally: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Bethlehem, Paris, Dresden, Istanbul, Beijing, Sofia, and Manhattan (New York).
