BLASt Price 2025: City in a Park

The BLASt prize is an initiative of the architecture platform BLASt, supported by the municipality of Breda. The aim of this annual award is to promote spatial quality in the city. In 2025, the prize will focus on the theme "Stad in een park", a vision in which greenery forms the basis for urban development.

During the ceremony, various projects will be presented. Host Mascha de Rooij will discuss with the jury and the audience. Councillor Jeroen Bruijns (Outdoor Space and Region) will present the award: a specially designed tile. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to chat during a convivial drinks reception.

Breda - National Park City
In May, Breda was declared the fourth city in the world to become a National Park City, an international recognition of its green ambitions. But which projects are already translating this into concrete actions? BLASt received thirty submissions. A judging panel, consisting of Irene Edzes (FASadE), Philomene van der Vliet (BOOM Landscape), and Vincent Luijendijk (strategic advisor on healthy living environments), will assess the plans. The jury is looking for projects that make Breda not only greener but also more inclusive, healthier, more attractive, and more resilient.
