anniversary performance 25 years Lappen vol Smart

On Sunday 9 November 2025, the folk song choir Lappen vol Smart celebrates its 25th anniversary. The gathering starts at 3:00 PM at café Ginneken, Ginnekenweg 247 in Breda. Former members, friends, acquaintances, and interested parties are warmly invited to this event. Admission is free.

The choir was founded on 8 November 2000 and performed for the first time three months later at the New Year's reception of the Carnival Association De Krukke. Since then, numerous performances have followed in Breda cafés, care homes, and at various events. The choir has also appeared three times on the television programme Man bijt hond.

To this day, Lappen vol Smart is still regularly heard in Breda. The performances are musically supported by accordionist Joost Tholhuijsen.

The anniversary is celebrated with well-known sing-alongs and a guest appearance by Cheddar, a Breda-based cover band that plays songs from the sixties to the present day. The band consists of Frank Kampen (vocals), Karin Falke (bass), Maarten Poeth (guitar), Ton Hermans (drums), and Joost Tholhuijsen (accordion).
